The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has issued an official press notification on March 4, 2026, announcing a significant change in the grading system. The passing percentage for students has been officially increased from 33% to 40%.

“In continuation of the Notification No. BSE/NGS/1st AE26/2026 dated 6th February, 2026 for implementation of new grading scheme with effect from the 1st Annual Examinations 2026 for class 9th and subsequently from 1st Annual Examinations 2027 for class 10th, the pass percentage has also been raised 33% to 40% with the implementation changing in passing marks according to new grading scheme…”
