Sindh Government Announces Public Holiday on February 7th for Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s Urs
KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has officially declared a public holiday across the province to mark the occasion of the Urs of Sufi Saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department regarding the holiday:
“The Government of Sindh hereby declares 7th February, 2026 (Saturday) as a Public Holiday for all Government offices, Autonomous Bodies, Semi-Autonomous Bodies, Corporations, and Local Councils under the Administrative Control of the Government of Sindh.”
The notification clarifies that essential services will remain operational during the holiday. The order was issued with the approval of the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Mr. Asif Hyder Shah.
Copies of the notification have been forwarded to all relevant departments, including the High Court of Sindh, Divisional Commissioners, and various ministries for immediate implementation.
