The Sindh Cabinet has approved the decision to assign the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) to IBA Sukkur (SIBA Testing Agency).
- This decision was made based on SIBA’s satisfactory performance in conducting MDCAT 2024.
- Future testing agency selections will be performance-based.
- The Health Department reserves the authority to either conduct the admissions directly or delegate them to any nominated medical university.
- A supervisory committee will be formed by the department to oversee the process when handled by a university.
A comprehensive admission policy has also been approved for MBBS and BDS programs in both public and private medical/dental colleges across Sindh, in line with the PMDC Act 2022 and Sindh High Court directives.
Key highlights of the new policy:
- Strict compliance with PMDC rules regarding eligibility, merit criteria, and passing marks.
- Sindh domicile is mandatory for all candidates, verified through Juvenile Cards and biometric authentication.
- The seat allocation for all medical colleges will be published in the official Prospectus for Session 2024-25, which cannot be modified by individual universities afterward.
- The policy ensures transparency, uniformity, and centralized control in the MDCAT process across the province.
